5 Vintage Halloween and Fall DIY Craft Ideas

These vintage Halloween and fall crafts are the perfect way to add retro style to your spooky haunted home. Vintage Halloween decor can be really expensive so let’s DIY some of our own! I hope you find this autumn craft post inspirational and you might even be able to dig some items out of the trash and upcycle them.

Autumn pumpkin faire

This looks like the easiest DIY and has the cutest retro vibes! They look like they’re going to a Halloween ball wearing giant orange ball gowns. I love it! You can find the written tutorial at Smile Mercantile or watch the video below!

Groovy Ghost Decorations

I made these groovy ghosts out of vintage sheets and some recyclables. It’s a really easy craft and the ghosts are SO cute! You can watch the how-to tutorial below.

Retro paper Halloween candles

This is a Christmas tutorial and I made them last year in December. But this year I’m planning on following the same instructions and making them HALLOWEEN themed! Think the black flame candle from Hocus Pocus.

It’s an upcycle project, you save toilet paper and paper towel rolls to make into these vintage candle decorations. You can read the full tutorial at Smile Mercantile and I have the video tutorial below which is really helpful.

I really want to make these felt acorns! I love how colorful they are and that you can hunt for acorns caps to make this DIY. You can watch the video below.

Halloween-themed junk journal

You can create a festive junk journal with retro Halloween ephemera. You can collect vintage Halloween paper pieces like cupcake liners, vintage trick-or-treat bags, Halloween ads, old costume sewing patterns and more. I love making junk journals and a Halloween one would be a lot of fun to display and make! You can watch a video of my friend Amy’s Halloween junk journal below.

That’s my roundup of some super cute vintage-inspired Halloween decorations! I hope you found them inspiring! For more Halloween inspiration you can check out the Halloween section of my blog.
