You can easily repair watermarks or heat rings that have damaged a wood finish. If you want a quick fix, instead of sanding and refinishing the whole surface, just use these helpful tips.
1. USE A WOOD AMALGAMATOR
For watermarks and rings caused by cups without coasters, use a wood amalgamator.
2. TEST A SPOT
Test in a small, inconspicuous area first just to be sure it doesn’t damage the finish
3. WET STEEL WOOL
Drench some steel wool in the liquid and squeeze out lightly. You want to use fine woven steel wool. The more 0’s the finer it is.
4. BUFF WITH STEEL WOOL
Apply light pressure with the grain until the spot disappears.
5. WIPE CLEAN
Then, finish by wiping it clean with a clean cotton rag.
6. HELPFUL TIP
Cloths referred to as white ring removers also work to remove marks caused by heat and water and even minor scratches.
