Thanksgiving Dinner; How To Grill Vegetables

It was bound to happen, I got kicked off the adult’s table and plan to enjoy this Thanksgiving at the kid’s table.  They challenged me to create some fun new items and I think my Traeger grill, and I did a solid job.

Watch what happens when we ask kids what they want at their table! I’m so glad they asked for veggies! Adding that wood-fired flavor to a delicious collection of vegetables is the perfect healthy side dish for your family feast. Let’s see what the kids think.

Yield: 6 Servings of Veggies

Prep Time: 15 Minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Cook Temp: 425˚ F

Ingredients

1 ea                Zucchini, Large, Washed                                                Cut into small bias cut slices

1 ea                Yellow Squash, Large, Washed                                      Cut into small bias cut slices

1 bag             Sugar Snap Peas, Washed                                             

1 crown        Broccoli, Large, Washed                                                   Cut into small florettes

½ bag            Baby Carrots, Small, Washed                                         Split in half

1 bag               Sweet Peppers, Mini, Washed                                      Split in half

2 tbsp             Oil, Canola/Olive Blend                                                   

As Needed    Garden Rub, 5280 Culinary                                        

Preparation Directions:

  • Wash all tools prior to use
  • Wash all vegetables prior to use
  • Clean and sanitize all cutting boards and prep surfaces prior to use
  • Read all manufacturer’s instructions before using grills, or any cooking tools
  • Prep the vegetables as shown above in Prep Note
  • Place into a medium-sized mixing bowl
  • Drizzle with oil
  • Season to taste with Garden Rub
  • Place veggies onto the grilling basket pan
  • Clean out Traeger as needed and change drip tray liner
  • Fill pellet hopper with Ace Reserve Blend Pellets
  • Set Traeger to 425˚ F, hit enter and hit ignite
  • Once Traeger has reached temp –
  • Load the grilling basket into the Traeger
  • Close the lid
  • Cook for about 7 minutes and using a pair of long tongs, turn the veggies and close the grill
  • Continue cooking until veggies reach your desired doneness (approx. 15 minutes)
  • Using heatproof gloves, carefully remove the grilling pan and place it onto a heat-safe surface
