Adding smoke to your gas grill is easy with some helpful tools from Ace. I have picked 3 of my favorite smoke tools for you to choose from. I use them all in our cooking projects and have found some great flavor by adding smoke before and during the cooking process. Give these tips a try, then craft your own smoke plan and have fun.
Smoking Directions:
Preparation Tips:
- Choose your preferred smoking product
- The AMAZEN tubes come in 2, 4 & 6-hour size
- Pick a stronger wood that will impart heavier flavor in a short amount of time (if desired)
- The Weber smoker box can use wood chips, small chunks, or even wood pellets as the smoke source
- The Grill Mark smoker box can use wood chips, small chunks, or even wood pellets as the smoke source
- CHEF TIP – if doing a low and slow smoke project adjust the burners to maintain the desired heat and use opposite burners to create that indirect heat. Be sure to place the smoker box or tube over the heat source.
- For low and slow-smoke projects, you may have to reload the smoker boxes or tube
TO PREPARE THE WEBER GAS GRILL – SMOKER BOX
- Fill smoker boxes FULL with wood chips, chunks, or pellets – USE DRY CHIPS/WOOD/PELLETS
- With the grill OFF – lift up the grill grate and load the smoker box on top of the burners/flavorizer bars
- Ensure the grill grate lays flat and set the grate down into its normal position
- Turn the burner to high to ignite wood and start the flow of smoke
- Adjust burner as needed to maintain smoke and temp
- For quick smoke projects such as grilling, set food next to the smoker box while cooking to get some fast and great smoke flavor
- For long smoke projects, set food away from the smoker box for a more even and slow smoke
- Load product and smoke for desired time
- RE-load smoker box if needed
